The project was ungertaken to treat the children from age group 6 to 16. The children were from low socioeconomic group.Most of them had lost their parents. They were from Matale, Srilanka. The aim was to treat & teach them brushing technique and guide about food habits.
We donated dental chair and instruments ,equipments for future dental camps .
We treated more then 800 patients who were not chewing their food from either side. We saw that they have started using both the sides for chewing without pain after our treatment. We showed brushing mefhods.
We worked for 8 hours a day for 6 days. Local Rotary club helped us for communication with the children.
They are happy that they could get treatment done free of cost and receive the costly equipment free of cost for future dental treatment.
Rotary international helped us to implement this camp.
THE TARGET GROUP WAS FROM AGE 6 TO 16 YEARS - CHILDREN BOTH MALE AND FEMALE HAD DENTAL CARIES. THEY WERE FROM LOW SOCIOECONOMIC STATUS. THEY HAD LOST THEIR PARENTS.
THE PROJECT WAS FUNDED BY ROTARY INTERNATIONAL. DR TUSHAR VORA FROM AKOLA AND DR TALWLAKAR FROM KOLHAPUR ALSO ADDED SOME PAET TO MAKE IT A BIG SUCCESS.
THE PROJECT WAS COMPLETED IN 6 DAYS. WE WORKED FOR 8 HRS A DAY.
WHEN IT WAS HANDED OVER TO ROTARY CLUB TO CARRY OUT AS A PERMANENT ACTIVITY WITH THE HELP OF LOCAL DENTIST AND EQUIPMENTS WHICH WE DONATED.
THE REOPRT SAYS THAT IT IS STILL CARRIED OUT. MANY CHILDREN VISITS THE CENTRE AND TAKE THE ADVANTAGE OF FREE TREATMENT. THE RECURRENT EXPENDITURE IS MINIMAL AND BEING TAKEN CARE BY ROTARY CLUB OF MATALE, SRILANKA.
